Our Red Horse mini cake is made entirely from Gongting grade ripe pu-erh tea from Yong De county tea leaves.  2013 harvested tea leaves were fermented in early 2014 and then finally pressed into these lovely 100 gram mini cakes at the very end of 2014. 

Yong De ripe tea is strong in taste and aroma with kind of camphor lingering after-taste.  With a little age the tea begins to take on a thick sweetness and hint of rose/floral taste.

Gongting grade ripe pu-erh is the smallest leaf grade.  It tends to be potent in taste and aroma but is less infusable than coarser leaf grades.

100 grams per cake (7 cakes per bamboo leaf tong)

This tea has been tested in certified laboratory and has passed the MRL limits for pesticide residues as established by the EU Food and Safety commission.  For more information about MRL testing and the EU Food and Safety commission .
